How DTF printing works

  1. Your artwork is printed in colour plus a white layer onto a special PET film
  2. Hot-melt adhesive powder is applied to the wet ink
  3. The film passes through a heat conveyor to cure the powder
  4. The transfer is heat-pressed onto the garment and the film is peeled off

Artwork tips

  • Send vector files (AI, PDF, SVG) or PNG at 300 dpi at print size
  • Avoid very thin lines under 0.5 mm and tiny text under 6 pt
  • Large solid areas feel heavier; ask us about breaking them up

Care and durability

Wash inside out at 30–40°C, do not iron directly on the print, and avoid tumble drying on high heat. Properly pressed DTF prints stay bright and flexible for many washes.

Frequently asked questions

What is DTF printing?

Direct-to-film printing: artwork is printed onto film with adhesive powder, then heat-pressed onto the garment. It works on almost any fabric and colour.

Is DTF better than screen printing?

For small runs and multi-colour designs, often yes. For large runs of simple spot-colour designs, screen printing is usually cheaper and more durable.

Can DTF print on polyester sportswear?

Yes. DTF works on polyester, nylon and blends, including dark colours.

What is the MOQ for DTF printed apparel?

30 pieces per design at Ravix Pro.

Does DTF crack?

Good-quality DTF stays flexible and resists cracking when pressed correctly and washed inside out.
