Quick answer: Send every player a size sheet with the factory’s measurements, collect name, number and size in one spreadsheet, and check it against a sample set before ordering.
Wrong sizes are the most common reason a team kit order goes wrong: players who cannot wear their shirt, last-minute reorders and extra shipping costs. A simple, organised size collection prevents almost all of it. Here is the method we recommend to clubs, academies and schools.
Quick answer
To collect team sizes: send players the manufacturer’s size chart (not a generic one), ask them to measure chest and waist or try a size set, collect name, number, size and fit (youth, men’s or women’s cut) in one shared sheet, double-check duplicates and spellings, and add 5–10% spare kits in the most common sizes.
Step 1: Use the manufacturer’s size chart
Sizes vary between brands. A “Medium” from a retail brand may not match a factory’s Medium. Ask your manufacturer for its chart in centimetres and inches, including youth sizes and any women’s cut.
Step 2: Measure or try on
- Best: order a size set (one sample per size) and let players try them.
- Good: players measure chest (shirts) and waist (shorts) and compare with the chart.
- Avoid: guessing from age or “what I usually wear”.
Step 3: Collect everything in one sheet
| Player name (print) | Number | Shirt size | Shorts size | Socks size | Cut (youth / men / women) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SMITH | 7 | M | M | Adult | Men | Captain armband |
| KHAN | 10 | YL | YL | Junior | Youth | — |
Copy this table into a spreadsheet and share it with players or parents. Ask them to write the name exactly as it should be printed.
Step 4: Check before sending
- No duplicate numbers (unless your league allows them).
- Names spelled correctly, with accents if needed.
- Goalkeepers marked separately (different colour kit).
- Total quantity per design meets the MOQ (30 pieces per design at Ravix Pro).
Step 5: Add spares
New players join during the season. Order 5–10% spare kits in the two or three most common sizes, with blank names. Reordering a few pieces later costs more per piece and takes weeks.
Youth, men’s and women’s cuts
Youth sizes (often YS–YXL) are shorter and narrower. Women’s cuts have a tapered waist and shorter sleeves. Mixed teams often order both cuts in the same design. See custom football kits and how to order custom team uniforms.

At Ravix Pro Industry we have manufactured sportswear and clothing since 2008. Design, pattern making, cutting, stitching, sublimation, screen printing, DTF, embroidery, quality control and packing all happen under one roof, so we control colour, fit and timing ourselves. Our advice in this guide comes from what we see on real orders every week: the questions buyers ask, the mistakes that delay production, and the details that make a sample match bulk.

FAQs
When should I collect sizes?
At least 10–12 weeks before the first match for a new design, so there is time for a sample and production.
Can sizes be mixed within the MOQ?
Yes. At Ravix Pro the 30-piece minimum is per design, with any mix of sizes, names and numbers.
What if a player is between two sizes?
Choose the larger size for jerseys and training tops, especially for growing youth players.
Do you provide a size chart?
Yes. We send our size chart with the quote and can make a size set for try-on.
