Short answer

Knitted hoodies, including pullover and zip-up styles, are classified under HS heading 6110. Cotton hoodies use 6110.20 and polyester or other man-made fibre hoodies use 6110.30. Woven hooded jackets are not hoodies for customs and usually fall under 6201 or 6202. Confirm the full national code with your broker.

Common codes

  • Cotton or cotton-rich fleece hoodie: 6110.20
  • Polyester or poly-blend hoodie: 6110.30
  • Wool hoodie: 6110.11
  • Matching knitted sweatpants: 6103.42 / 6103.43 (men’s), 6104.62 / 6104.63 (women’s)

How we help at Ravix Pro

The fibre that makes up most of the fabric weight decides the subheading. A 60% cotton / 40% polyester fleece is classified as cotton (6110.20); an 80% polyester / 20% cotton fleece is classified as man-made fibre (6110.30). We state the exact fabric composition on every commercial invoice so your broker can classify each style correctly.
